Chronic Epidural Hematoma

Abstract
The classical clinical features of the extradural hematomas were originally described by Jacobson in 1885, and numerous reports of the cases have been added by various authors until present time.
The clinical courses of the extradural hematomas are usually characterized by an acute and rapid progression to a fatal outcome within a period of several hours to days, although exceptions to these usual courses have been reported by some. For these the terms subacute
and chronic extradural hematomas have been frequently applied and it has been assumed by some observers that these cases are result of venous rather than arterial bleeding.,
The authors report three cases of the chronic extradural hematomas those were operated on more than thirteen days after head injury, and that include two supratentorial hematomas and one posterior fossa hematoma which has been very rarely seen.
